Flushing Action

The Cadet 3 toilet has a powerful flushing system that uses only 1.28 gallons per flush while the innovative rim cleans the bowl entirely with each flush.

American Standard Cadet 3 one-piece elongated toilet with a 1.28 GPF flush, in white, with product dimensions and features.

  • MaP score of 1,000 grams
  • Glazed trapway
  • Oversized 3” flush valve with a 2-⅛” trap-way

A single flush takes care of any waste using 20% less water than standard 1.6 gallon toilets, making the Cadet 3 more eco-friendly than other options while also lowering your monthly water bills. The elongated bowl uses siphoning action to boost the flushing power, and the glazed trap-way increases the flushing efficiency.

Although the Cadet 3 is designed to use its lower water volume to maximum effect, extra care may be required to use all of the available water with each flush. Users must make sure the water level is set to the appropriate height and that the flush lever remains pressed long enough to make full use of the 1.28 gallons per flush. Otherwise the toilet may splash when flushed or flush less efficiently.

Design & Style

The Cadet 3 is a compact one-piece unit made from vitreous china and features an EverClean surface. This type of finish is fired right into the china and protects the toilet from damage, stains, and the growth of microorganisms.

  • Left hand chrome trip lever
  • Elongated bowl
  • ADA-compliant with a 17-1/4″ seat height

The elongated bowl of this toilet is designed to be the “Right Height”,  so that it is easy to use for tall people, the elderly, and people with mobility issues. The Cadet 3 is ADA compliant, and it comes with a slow-close seat and seat cover that has a convenient lift-off feature for quick removal and reattachment. The quick seat removal and single piece design both make cleaning the toilet much easier.

This toilet has a minimalist classical design, but its compact size is where it really shines. A great fit for small bathrooms without compromising on comfort, the Cadet 3 is an excellent choice for refitting a small bathroom. It comes in three colors: classic white, bone, and linen.

Ease of Installation

This one-piece toilet doesn’t have a tricky installation procedure. Like the American Standard Boulevard, it requires a 12-inch rough-in, but because its skirted design might interfere with the water supply outlet, you should double-check measurements. Overall, this unit is just as straightforward and quick to install as any other one-piece toilet.

Additional Facts to Mention

  • The Cadet 3 has a quiet flush
  • Alternative flush handle finishes: white and matte black

Comparison – Compact Cadet 3 vs. Boulevard

Let’s compare the Compact Cadet 3 with another one of American Standard’s one-piece toilets. The Boulevard is one of American Standard’s luxury toilets and typically sells for twice the price of the Compact Cadet 3.

Although it includes several innovative features and luxury touches, the Boulevard’s higher price point may not hold up to the Compact Cadet 3’s efficient design and more economical price for most users.
