Flushing System

The Boulevard uses a powerful flushing system that ensures effective and efficient flushing. It has the highest possible MaP score of 1,000 and a glazed trapway that ensures effective waste removal. In addition to keeping the bowl clean, the PowerWash rim of the toilet boosts the flushing power as well.

  • PowerWash rim cleans the bowl with every flush
  • MaP score of 1,000
  • EPA WaterSense certified
However, it consumes only 1.28 gallons of water per flush, which meets EPA WaterSense criteria. Because it uses 20% less water than a 1.6 gallon toilet with every flush, this results in a significant savings on water bills over time. With this certification, users may also be eligible for consumer rebates on their water bills, depending on location.

All in all, its efficient flushing combined with EverClean surface keeps the toilet bacteria and odor-free at all times.

Design & Style

To start, like most of the best toilets available, the Boulevard is made from vitreous china. Its single piece design with concealed trapway minimizes nooks and crannies, making it much easier to clean the exterior of the toilet. It also features American Standard’s EverClean surface to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew.

  • Concealed trapway
  • Duroplast slow-close seat
  • ADA Compliant

This luxury performance toilet comes with a slow-close seat with a cover that closes to conceal the seat ring and has an easy lift-off feature for cleaning. Its Right Height designation means it is taller than most toilets, the final seat height with the included seat is 17-1/4″, which makes it more comfortable and easier to use for the elderly and those with mobility issues. Its siphoning action, elongated bowl also provides superior comfort and maximum flushing efficiency.

The Boulevard is available in white and linen and comes with a ten-year limited warranty.

This toilet is an elegant addition to the Boulevard collection, inspired by the mid-century Bauhaus design movement. The style makes a bold statement with its strong right angles and concealed trapway.

Installation

Finally, let’s discuss installation. The Boulevard, like the American Standard Vormax, requires a 12-inch rough-in.
One-piece toilets are  heavier than two-piece toilets, so you should look for help from at least one other person for installation.
Beyond the weight of this toilet, however, the installation itself is pretty straightforward, the same as any other conventional one-piece toilet.

Comparison of the Boulevard vs. Vormax Toilet

Here’s how the Boulevard compares to another popular American Standard toilet. The Vormax uses an innovative flushing system that American Standard claims is the “Cleanest Flush Ever Engineered.”

The Vormax’s dual injection flush valves and CleanCurve rim combine to provide one of the most powerful flush systems that American Standard offers–worth considering if seat height isn’t a driving factor.

Final Thought

Overall, the American Standard Boulevard is a beautifully designed, luxury level, high-efficiency toilet. However, other than the distinctive styling and extra-generous seat height, this model has little to set it apart from similar American Standard toilets at a lower price point. If you are putting together a bathroom with the Boulevard style, this would be an excellent addition to complete the look. Otherwise, you may find better value with a different model.
