“With the Swiss Madison St. Tropez, every bathroom trip feels like a mini-vacation. This absolute unit provides great user support and reliable suction strength through and through.”

main features listed on left of the st tropez toilet

Though the St. Tropez may look minimalistic, its features are anything but.

Flush Action

The St. Tropez is a dual-flush toilet, giving you the option between 1.1 and 1.6 GPF, depending on your waste level. Dual-flush toilets are a fantastic economic and eco-friendly choice, saving you thousands of gallons and hundreds of dollars per year.

This toilet is equipped with the Swiss Madison signature Vortex Flush which utilizes ultra-powerful dual nozzles to leave your toilet bowl shining after each flush. The Vortex Flush is a true treat, as it takes care of waste fast and easy.

You’ll notice that the St. Tropez comes with a dual-flush push panel on top of its lid, making it ultra-easy to clean.

Design & Style

The St. Tropez is an angular, sleek model that would look best in a modern-aesthetic bathroom. Its crisp, sharp lines provide a sense of structure and serenity, in addition to its excellent performance.

This glazed ceramic unit comes with an elongated bowl and stands at 16 inches. Though the toilet is not ADA-compliant, it still comfortable for most users. Elongated toilet bowls also disperse user body weight to provide an extra layer of comfort.

Cleaning is especially easy with the St. Tropez thanks to its skirted trapway that eliminates any potential spots for dirt and grime to hide in. In fact, you’ll notice dirt and grime have nowhere to hide on the model, as the entire trapway and tank are seamlessly connected!

Another perk is that the Quick-Release Soft-Close seat is included! This seat is easily-removable for simple deep cleaning and doesn’t slam when it’s put down!

The St. Tropez is available in white, matte black, matte white, and bisque. The toilet is floor-mounted and requires a standard 12” rough-in.

“The Swiss Madison Concorde isn’t your average toilet. The unique design will pull you in and the durable performance will make you stay.”

SM-1T106

Take a ride on the wild side with this square-shaped beauty.

Flush Ability

Similarly to the St. Tropez, the Concorde utilizes a dual-flush system, giving you the option between 1.1 and 1.6 GPF. We cannot stress enough how money-saving and environmentally-friendly dual-flush toilets can be. Not every wasteload is created equal; sometimes you only need to use a little bit to get rid of it!

The Concorde is equipped with high-performance dual, gravity flush. Gravity flush systems use less water to remove waste and refill the toilet bowl in a matter of seconds.

The toilet has a silver chrome plated dual-flush bottom on top of its lid for easy flushing.

Design & Style

Have you noticed the Concorde’s square shaped bowl yet? We love it, though we understand it might be an acquired taste. The Concorde provides a similar layer of coolness and simplicity as the St. Tropez, but with a little bit of a twist.

It’s important to note that square shaped toilets aren’t as accessibility-friendly as elongated bowls. Still, if you know your toilet won’t be used by many people and want to add a bit of spunk to your bathroom, this is a fantastic choice.

The Concorde stands at 115-3/8″ (rim height), an average height. Once again, the Concorde is not ADA-compliant so keep this in mind during your shopping spree.

Cleaning is a breeze with this model because of its one-piece design. No nooks or crannies for gross dirt to hide in! The dual-flush button also only requires a light wipe down every once in a while.

This toilet is floor-mounted and uses a 12” rough-in. It is only available in white, matte black, and bisque. A Quiet Release, Soft-Close seat is included!

Summary of Recent Reviews

Users love the toilet’s eco-friendly dual flush, square shape, and comfortable seat. Both the white and black models tend to be popular. The most common complaint is the difficult installation process which requires professional help. However, the reviews largely praise the toilet, despite some minor difficulties in the beginning.

“Like the SM-1T106, but aren’t crazy about its square shape? Meet its cousin, the Swiss Madison SM-1T117, that offers all the best parts of the SM-17106 in a more traditional and accessible setting.”

SM-1T117

For a more classic feel, try out the glazed ceramic Classe.

Flush Ability

Similar to the St. Tropez and the Concorde, the Classe has a dual-flush system that lets you pick between 1.1 and 1.6 GPF. The toilet is equipped with the dual gravity flush system that quickly sucks out waste and refills your bowl.

The toilet has a square dual-flush push button on top of its lid for easy flushability. Just reach around while sitting down or press it while standing up with total ease.

Design & Style

The Concorde is a more traditional toilet, perfect for classic bathrooms with more customary features. You’ll notice the toilet’s elongated bowl neatly sits on top of a very angular commode. Just like the two previous models on this list, the Classe is remarkably easy to clean, due to its completely seamless structure.

The Concorde stands at 16.5,” a bit taller than traditional units. Taller toilets tend to be more comfortable for a wide range of users, as users can apply less pressure on their knees and ankles.

The Concorde is a floor-mounted unit with a standard 12” rough-in. We love that it comes with the Quick Release Soft-Close seat. It can be very frustrating investing in a unit only to find out you need to dish out another expense for what should’ve been included.

This model only comes in white and bisque.

One user even noted that out of the three toilets in his house, this one is his favorite! Another user noted that the installation process took longer than expected, but once installed, the toilet worked great.

“The Ivy is a solid unit with a strong flushing score and seamless design.”

Sleek, simple, and reliable. What more can you want?

Flush Power

SM-1T112 Ivy

This unit has the dual Vortex flush, that utilizes dual flush nozzles to expel waste effectively and refill your bowl in a manner of seconds. The eco-friendly and water-bill saving mechanism is split into 1.1 and 1.6 GPF.

Just like the Virage, this model has the round, dual-flush push button on top of its lid.

Design

The Ivy is a cool piece with an effortlessly shining trapway that connects seamlessly with its tank. What does this mean? Easy cleaning! No need to clean dirt and grime rom nooks and crannies. The only thing you need to do is give the toilet a good wipe down every once in a while.

The Ivy has a slightly lower height than Virage, Classe, and St. Tropez, standing at 15-11/16″ (rim height). Still, the toilet is comfortable for most users, thanks to the addition of an elongated bowl that disperses user body weight better than a rounded one.

The toilet is floor-mounted with a standard 12” rough-in. The unit is only available in white and bisque. Just like the other units, a Quick-Release Soft-Close seat is included!

“The Virage is a seamless, easy-to-clean model that deserves more credit than it receives.”

This unit’s cool modern look will upgrade any bathroom.

Flush Ability

SM-1T123 Virage

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Virage uses a dual-flush mechanism that has two options – 1.1 and 1.6 GPF. As opposed to the previous units, this toilet has a round dual-flush button – a fun small addition.

The Virage utilizes the ultra-powerful Vortex flushing system which utilizes ultra-powerful dual nozzles to leave your toilet bowl shining after each flush. Both the Vortex and gravity flush are great flushing systems, though the Vortex is a bit more unique to Swiss Madison.

Design & Style

The biggest difference between the units on this list is the simple design features. The Virage is a one-piece, glazed ceramic piece – just like the other units. However, take a look at the toilet’s fitted trapway. Though its still easy to clean, the swoosh that runs through the trapway is another unique element of this unit..

The Virage stands at 16-9/16″ (rim height), a comfortable height for most users. The toilet also has an elongated bowl that helps disperse user body weight.

This model is also floor-mounted with a standard 12” rough-in. It is available in white, matte black, and bisque.

A Quick-Release Soft-Close seat is included so you don’t have to worry about any additional purchases!

Swiss Madison Toilet Buying Features

Type of  Seat

A soft closure lid helps prevent the seat from slamming and making a loud thud. This is especially convenient at night. The lid moves down slowly with the help of supporting hinges.

Flush System

A dual flush system gives you two options; full flush or partial flush. The full flush works best with solid waste, and the partial flush can be used for liquid waste. With this, you can be more mindful of your responsibility towards conserving water.

Swiss MadisoN The Design

The lustrous and beautiful Sublime II is capable of adding more beauty to any bathroom. The bolts which fix the toilet to the ground have a white cover, which makes it look entirely uniform.

Installation

A toilet’s simple design makes it effortless to install. It comes with all the bolts, wax rings, and bolt kits you’ll need. Besides being somewhat heavy, it is simple to install and no particular service is needed, especially if you know how to handle basic appliance installations.

Toilet Performance and MaP Score

If you are shopping for a new toilet, you might have heard of the term MaP Score. MaP, or Maximum Performance Score, refers to how many grams of solid waste a toilet can process in a single flush.

The score goes from 250 to 1000, but we advise you to buy a toilet that has a score of at least 700. You will notice that some toilets have a high score of around 1250, but in that case, the test was performed by the manufacturer, and not the registered agent, since the official score can’t go over 1000.

Thankfully for every option on our list, you won’t have to worry about the score. Each of our selections utilizes powerful flushing technology, with MaP scores of at least 700 grams apiece.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Elongated Swiss Madison Toilets Better than Round?

The toilet bowl shape depends mainly on what you prefer. While elongated bowls provide more comfort, round bowls take up less space and allow for more room in the bathroom. Therefore, select the type of bowl that meets your preference between increased comfort and more efficient space usage.

Our Final Opinion

Considering all things, Swiss Madison toilets are very chic, ultra-sleek, and beautiful. Since the flush mechanism is effective and powerful due to the signature Vortex or classic gravity flush, the toilets don’t clog. The dual flush option gives you the liberty of being mindful and saving water.

Furthermore, Swiss Madison toilets are easy to install and come with all the essential assembly hardware. No need to worry about getting all supplies.

These are our top picks when it comes to Swiss Madison toilets. When picking any option from this popular toilet manufacturer, you won’t make a mistake no matter which toilet you choose. Particularly for our selections, all of these models are elegant and reliable.
