Flush Action
The American Standard Heritage Vormax uses the powerful Vormax flush system with dual injection flush valves. While it consumes only 1.28 gallons per flush, the dual flush valves increase flush power and prevent problems like clogging. One of the valves kick-starts the traditional siphon action used by all gravity fed toilets, while the second valve sends water swirling around the bowl for additional clearing and cleaning action. The Vormax flush system is designed to help keep the bowl clean with its spiraling jet action within the bowl.
- Dual injection flush valves
- MaP score of 1,000
- EPA WaterSense certified
This unit also has an MaP rating of 1,000, which is highly competitive and the highest rating available – this rating highlights that the unit is completely able to clean bulk waste with the help of its 2 ⅙ – inch glazed trapway.
Design & Style
Like most high-quality toilets on the market today, this high-efficiency toilet is made from vitreous china. The Heritage is a traditional style toilet; the base and tank lid have beveled, layered edges that gives it a classic, elegant look. It features an elongated bowl for maximum comfort, but this model does not come with a seat, which must be purchased separately. The toilet’s Right Height designation means it is taller than most toilets, the final seat height with the recommended seat is 17”, which makes it more comfortable and easier to use for taller people, the elderly, and those with mobility issues. American Standard’s Right Height toilets are ADA compliant.
- Left hand chrome trip lever
- Two piece design
- Exposed trapway
- ADA Compliant
The Heritage Vormax is styled to fit with the Retrospect collection, inspired by vintage traditional style. This toilet requires a 12” rough-in for installation, and its two piece design is easy to install. It’s available in white and linen, and it includes a ten-year limited warranty.
Comparison – Heritage Vormax vs. Champion PRO
What if we want to compare the Heritage Vormax with another popular option, the Champion PRO?
| Heritage Vormax (205AA104.020) | Champion PRO 1.6 (211CA004.020) |
| Two piece | Two piece |
| 1.28 gallons per flush | 1.6 gallons per flush |
| Elongated Right Height bowl | Elongated standard height bowl |
| 10 year limited warranty | 10 year limited warranty |
| Dual injection flush valves | Single flush valve |
| 2” flush valve (two valves) | 4” flush valve |
| CleanCurve rim | PowerWash rim |
| 1,000 MaP | 1,000 MaP |
These models use two different flush systems: the Vormax uses two separate flush valves while the Champion uses an extra-large 4” flush valve. Both are very strong systems with a MaP score of 1,000, so choosing between them may come down to comfort (Right Height vs standard height) and water use (this model of the Champion PRO is not WaterSense certified). The list price for the Heritage is higher than the Champion, but the additional features justify the price premium.
Additional Facts to Mention
- Testing shows that the Vormax flush system cleans up to two times better than conventional under-the-rim systems
- Recommended seats for this toilet are the Traditional Slow Close Elongated and Cadet 3 Slow Close Elongated seats
