WoodBridge T-0020 modern toilet installed

The WoodBridge is a basic but certainly not regular square toilet. Although it lacks the automated functionalities of most modern toilets, it includes several user-centric features.

The T-0020 is an elongated, one-piece square toilet with a skirted trapway that provides a visual appeal and structural support. Due to the narrow cistern of the WoodBridge T-0020, this toilet takes up less space than most of its kind.

The WoodBridge T-0020 has a dual-flush system with a water rating of 1.0/1.6GPF. It integrates the super-quiet siphon flush system and is fully glazed with a protective coat against dirt and other degrading elements.

The T-0020 square toilet measures the universal height of 16.5-inches (with a seat), making it largely comfortable to sit on.

It comes with a SoftClose seat with QuickRelease hinges to spare the owners the cost of buying a toilet seat and the noisy function of regular toilet seats. And because of its QuickRelease hinges, owners of the WoodBridge T-0020 do not have to wait 15 seconds for the SlowClose operation. They can always hurriedly close the toilet lid without worrying about the hinges.

The WoodBridge T-0020 is also packaged with the necessary installation hardware, including a special hand wrench for tightening the bolts, making installing the square toilet more straightforward than most. Since it has the standard 12-inch rough-in fitting, this toilet will match most bathrooms – though not all.

The T-0020 toilet is available in a single white color and features a 3-tilt position and a slightly taller tank to provide better back support for those who enjoy resting on the tank. These details are quite different from the WoodBridge T-0001 and the WoodBridge T-0019, and why we made this our pick.

Speaking of similar models, the WoodBridge T-0019 is pretty much like the T-0020. Besides the tank and structure difference, the T-0019 is a solid ADA-compliant toilet while the T-0020 isn’t.

We also have the WoodBridge B0921, 99.99% similar to the WoodBridge T-0020 – same height range, same flush rating, same high-efficiency square toilet. It is simply the black variation of the white T-0020.

Customers are pleased with the WoodBridge T-0020 for its overall high quality, from its sleek design to its powerful, quiet flush and quality glaze. They appreciate its easy installation and the included quality SoftClose seat. Read more about the WoodBridge toilets.

Duravit 2157010005 Durastyle toilet installed

The Duravit 215701005 is part of the Durastyle 215701. toilets This series comprises floor-mounted, elongated-bowl, one-piece square toilets. They all have beautiful designs that are guaranteed to work well in any bathroom space and several thoughtful features that might make their high price a blur.

The Duravit Durastyle models come in a universal height of 15 ¾-inches. The Duravit Durastyle toilets are all top-flush designs and are available in a single color – the standard white. Some of its models have dual-flush systems of 0.92/1.32GPF, and others have single flush systems of 1.28GPF.

These toilets use the more water-efficient symphonic/washdown technology and have open rims that make flushing and cleaning their bowls easy but effective.

The Duravit square toilets are relatively more space-saving than most and are fitted with the standard 12-inch rough-in, making them suitable for most bathrooms.

Duravit 215701005 possesses all the features of the Durastyle series, including the no glaze design and dual-flush. Although its glaze is only present in the 215702005 model, customers have not had issues with stains or maintenance. So, we believe the symphonic flush does the trick.

Like the other Durastyle toilets, the Duravit 215701005 has a sleek look thanks to its complete internal connections. But this perk goes only as far as beauty. Accessing its water connections after installation might be difficult. Thus, we recommend fitting in an access panel at the bank, so you do not have to dismantle the toilet for every minor fix.

Another generic flaw of the Durastyle toilets is they do not come with the installation hardware or a seat. Both are required to be purchased separately. But considering the multitude of seat options you can explore, there’s an upside to this quality.

Duravit modern toilet guide

The Duravit 2160510000 is a subsidiary of the Duravit 216051 square toilets. These toilets are two-piece, elongated bowls and are part of Duravit’s modern, inexpensive square toilets collection.

By standard, they are all of a universal height of about 15 ¾-inches. But this can be upgraded to an ADA-compliant height with a tall-enough seat, which brings us to this flaw: Duravit 216051 toilets do not come with seats or tanks.

Although the Duravit 216051 toilets do not come with most installation hardware, they are packaged with the Vario connector for SensoWash that allows vertical and horizontal outlet fitting to lengths between 70-180mm.

The Duravit 2160510000 toilet is one of the Duravit square-toilets dual-flush models. It has a water flow rating of 0.92/1.32GPF and, like the other Duravit toilets, has an open rim flush technology.

Also, like the other Duravit 216051 square toilets, the Duravit 2160510000 has the standard 12-inch rough-in fitting.

*This toilet series is also available in single flush models of 1.28GPF.

However, the Hygiene glaze is absent in all the Duravit 216051 models except the Duravit 2160512000. Still, with the exceptional symphonic flush power of the Duravit toilets, maintaining it is almost a breeze.

WHAT MAKES THIS SQUARE TOILET AN IDEAL PICK
  • The washdown technique of this flush system rinses better.
  • A 15.7-inch seat height is not too tall for children.
  • It is a lot cheaper than the Duravit 2157010005.
  • The dual-flush mechanism is water-efficient.
WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED WITH THE DURAVIT 21605
  • The need for additional purchases on its components.

Swiss Madison SM-1T254 St. Tropez dual flush model top view

The Swiss Madison St. Tropez is similar to the Swiss Concorde square toilet. It is a one-piece, elongated square toilet with a beautiful design delivered in a compact porcelain bowl.

The St.Tropez square toilet has a skirted bowl extending to its glazed trapway for better flush performance and extra sturdiness on the outside. This toilet can support up to 450 pounds.

The St. Tropez is featured in dual-flush systems of 1.1/1.6GPF and single flush models of 1.28GPF, and all its models use the quiet, powerful siphon-jet (vortex) flush.

These toilets come with a SoftClose, QuickRelease toilet seat that offers comfortable use and easy maintenance. And the required bolts and screws are included for stress-free installation.

St. Tropez toilets measure the universal height of 16.5-inches, even with the seat. So though they are not ADA-compliant, they are pretty comfortable toilets for the family.

These square toilets are available in varieties. They feature:

  • Several bowl color options.
  • Several hardware color options.
  • Tankless design with dual-color options.
  • Bidet design with dual color options.
  • Floor mounted and wall-mounted designs.

Their floor-mounted designs come with unique floor mounting holes for the screws, but the wall-mounted designs require buyers to buy the tank, supply line, and wall actuator separately.

While checking customer reviews, we noticed complaints about the flush power, which we’d like to attribute to these customers having experienced the more powerful symphonic flush system.

Some customers also complain the square toilet is a bit pricey. But evaluating the price-quality ratio, we’d say it’s worth every penny.

Eago WD333 modern toilet review and specs

If you are after a modern toilet with a contemporary appeal, then the EAGO WD333 square toilet is for you. It is a wall-mounted, one-piece toilet that is easy to transport and install.

The EAGO WD333 measures a universal height of 15 ¾-inches, which can be upgraded to ADA compliance due to the adjustable height quality of wall-mounted toilets. The EAGO team included a sturdy, practical technology that promises to hold firm to the wall as long as it is used correctly to support its wall-mount system.

This EAGO toilet is fully glazed and features a dual-flush system of 0.8/1.6GPF, which has been tested to be powerful enough to flush 25 sponge stripes, an equivalent of 90 polypropylene balls. Its flush system has also been reviewed to be less noisy than most flush systems.

A similar square toilet to the EAGO WD333 is the EAGO WD390. This toilet measures an ADA-compliant height of 17 ¾-inches, even without the seat.

The EAGO WD333 is also identical to the Duravit square toilet, with its single white color and SoftClose toilet seat, but is slightly less expensive than the Duravit toilets. However, because it does not come with a tank carrier (mount) or a concealed tank, interested customers will have extra costs to bear.

Despite these flaws, the EAGO WD333 is a well-liked square toilet. According to a customer, “It is beautifully modern and definitely a conversation piece.”

WHAT WE APPRECIATE ABOUT THE EAGO WD333
  • Wall-mounted toilets save up to 10 inches more space than floor-mounted types.
  • It can flush waste of an equivalent of 90 polypropylene balls totally and quietly.
  • The 15-inch high seat is suitable for children.
ITS NOT-SO-GREAT FEATURES
  • It is only available in the standard white color.
  • The additional costs it incurs with its mount and concealed tank.

Fresca Bath FTL2336 modern toilet installed

Are you searching for a fully-compliant toilet? You’d want to read this. The Fresca Bath FTL2336 Apus toilet is a one-piece, elongated bowl, modern square toilet with excellent flush power despite its minimalist features.

This compact-sized square toilet is structured to the ADA-compliant comfort height of 17-inches (with a seat) for better sitting, especially for tall persons and persons with mobility issues. It is also UPC-certified because it does not cut back on quality.

The FTL2336 Apus uses a simple, dual gravity-flush system of 1.6/0.8 GPF that works well with the EasyClean-glazed bowl and trapway to ensure proper flushing with zero residues. It is not your typical left-hand lever toilet.

The Fresca Bath FTL2336 Apus uses the right-hand lever, which might be more aesthetic than functional modification.

This Fresca toilet comes with a soft-close toilet seat for more discrete usage. However, its gravity flush is surprisingly said to be noisy, which rules out the purpose of its SoftClose toilet seat.

Although the Fresca Bath FTL2336 Apus toilet uses the standard 12-inch rough-in, some customers say its installation is pretty challenging, especially if you don’t pay keen attention to the installation manual.

But, the good news is that if you get into a fix, the Fresca team promises real-time professional support with the installation when you contact them. Still, there are complaints of the customer support team being non-responsive.

While there are limited reviews on this stylish toilet, more than a few customers mentioned that their packages came with a missing bolt or two.

Swiss Madison SM-1T106 toilet installed in modern bathroom

The Swiss Concorde square toilet is truly a beauty to behold, with its sleek porcelain square body designed into a one-piece toilet with a skirted base. Available in various colors, including a matte black finish, this toilet is super classy.

The Concorde square toilet goes from design to quality by extending its skirted form from the seamless porcelain exterior to its glazed concealed trapway. This helps it offer balance on the outside and health on the inside because a skirted, glazed trapway has lesser clog and residue risks.

But, that is not all. The Swiss Concorde applies the gravity dual-flush system of 1.1/1.6GPF to ensure it remains water-efficient but doesn’t infringe on flush efficiency. Another great thing about the Swiss Concorde is its gravity flush is characteristically noiseless.

The Concorde square toilet comes in single-flush, side-flush models of 1.2GPF, wall-mounted designs, and tankless versions.

All its models, including the dual-flush designs, measure the universal height of 15.5-inches, 16.5″ with the seat, which is still not ADA-compliant but comfortable for most people, including children.

You’d like to know that you wouldn’t have to spend a dime on toilet seats because this toilet comes with a SoftClose, QuickRelease seat with an easy-to-detach lid for more thorough cleaning. You don’t even need tools to take off its lid.

The Swiss Concorde toilet is compatible with 12-inch rough-ins and has the necessary installation hardware for its tank versions, but not its tankless designs. Its tankless designs also require interested shoppers to purchase the concealed tank separately.

A similar toilet to the Swiss Madison Concorde toilet is the Swiss Madison Sublime II. They have identical water flow ratings, dual-flush performance, a few similarities in their design, and other similar features.

But while the Concorde is only available in the single one-piece, square bowl design, the Sublime II is available in one and two-piece designs and features a round bowl instead. It also has dual-flush models with water ratings of 0.8/1.28GPF.

Buyers are happy with the Swiss Madison Concorde toilet – “Piece of art…” And while some customers had issues with their shipping time, they all agreed it was worth the wait. Several reviews mention that this toilet’s water efficiency and flush power are exceptional.

Highlights & Benefits of Square Toilets

In picking the perfect square toilet, here are four factors to consider so you do not make a wrong purchase:

  • Size and Specs.

Square toilets are no different than your regular shaped toilets. They have dimensions and fittings that you should note to avoid putting in a “round bolt in a square hole.”

Before shopping for your new square toilet, you need to have your bathroom measurements in hand and a mental picture of the perfect position for your new toilet.

You should also ensure your desired square toilet matches your bathroom’s rough-in slot. And depending on what kind of toilet you’d be going for: the wall-mounted version or the floor-mounted version, you should ensure you are aware of the needed hardware to avoid installation hassles.

  • Comfort Level

If you enjoy reading a book or playing games on your phone while on the toilet, this should be a critical factor. And even if you don’t, it’s still essential that your toilet be as comfortable as possible.

One aspect to pay attention to here is the toilet seat.

Square toilets are already pretty comfortable to sit on with their uniform fronts, but these toilets can be even better with the right toilet seat. While some toilets come with seats, some do not, which is alright since we aren’t just checking for any seat. We are searching for comfortable ones.

As you must have inferred, there are various kinds of toilet seats. Some are padded, some heated, others silent, and some with even more smart functions.

Some feature single functions, some dual functions, some multiple technologies. So when you browse for the perfect square toilet, you should check if it comes with a toilet seat – and what kind of seat it comes with.

If it doesn’t come with a toilet seat, you want to know what kind of toilet seats it is compatible with. And even if it does come with a toilet seat, finding out what toilet seats it can be fitted with is vital to lasting comfort.

The flush system is another aspect to look into. Some flush systems are less noisy than others. So, if you have a small home space and believe some privacy will be nice, you want to opt for a quiet flush, square toilet with a square SlowClose seat.

But these perks aren’t for small homeowners alone.

  • Efficiency

According to the EPA, the average home wastes 90 gallons of water a day, and research shows that 27% of our daily water usage comes from our toilets. This high water consumption is reflected in our water bills and our environment, which is why modern toilets have water-efficient upgrades.

Most modern toilets are fitted with structures that minimize water usage and maximize flush efficiency. But since some modern toilets perform better than others, you want to check their flush systems after their water flow ratings.

A quick tip: Models that are WaterSense and HET-certified are often high-fliers.

  • Intended Use

Think about the people who will be using the toilet? Does anyone have special needs or difficulties sitting and standing? If so, you’ll want to go for a comfort height toilet, specifically an ADA-compliant one.

Installation Steps

A square toilet might differ from the next square toilet depending on its mounting system. Still, there are some general rules/tips that will help when installing a square toilet or replacing one:

Installing a Square Toilet vs. Regular Toilet

Besides their appearance, square toilets are practically similar to your regular wall-mounted or floor-mounted, elongated or round-bowl toilets. So, with little to no experience and this quick summary, you can install or replace them in a short time:

Fitting a Square Toilet Seat

Changing or installing a square toilet seat is generally the same as regular toilets.

You will need to take out the old toilet seat, clean up the area, attach the toilet seat to the long bolt, and make sure it is correctly aligned with the rim of the toilet. Then, fit in the rear bolts through the two slots at the extreme rear of the toilet seat and finally tighten the nuts with a screw to securely attach the toilet seat.

Common Installation Problems with Square Toilet Seats

  • If you are unable to move your new toilet to or within your bathroom freely, installing it will be tricky. So stay calm, try multiple angles or get extra hands.
  • If your bathroom experiences frequent high humidity levels, the metal nuts and bolts on the seat might rust very quickly. To replace the seat in this instance, you can grind the rusted bolts and nuts off with an angle grinder or hacksaw.

Important Installation Details for Square Toilets

Before buying a square toilet, ensure all measurements, including the toilet’s rough-in fitting, match your bathroom’s dimensions, so the plumbing fits perfectly.

Bathroom measurements can be taken with a measuring tape. You measure your bathroom’s rough-in length by extending the measuring tape from the back wall to the center of the base placement zone.

Next, the placement of your toilet must not interfere with the functioning of other bathroom components, like the bathroom door, sinks, etc.

Finally, remember that not all toilet models come with a seat or a tank, and the square toilets are no different. So, you might face some additional costs with some models.

Final Thoughts

Square toilets are not just for luxury hotels and fancy apartments. They are lovely additions to family homes and are excellent style-wise and function-wise.

You should check the EAGO WD333 and Swiss CONCORDE for the best budget-saving square toilet. And for the best quality-price square toilet, the WOODBRIDGE T-0020 might be just what you are searching for.
